畢竟錢的單位對每一個人是不同的,我們的壹萬是有些人的壹元

但是我認為這應該視為個案處理,商品的價值應決定於其基本面,尤其是一個年產近兩萬支的錶廠,激情只會是一時,終究會回歸其應有的價值(時間可能需數年)
如果PP的價值是對的,那其他一級錶廠的古董錶反而有數倍數十倍的漲幅(補漲)
但是如果PP是錯的,希望你的精神你的財力,禁得起考驗!
股票不是也如此嗎?

如果你說:機械錶是工藝品不是一般商品,不能一概而論!
那我告訴你一個例子:小弟也收藏一些華人前輩畫家的畫作,記得兩年前佳士得在
台拍賣油畫,其中一幅朱沅芷的自畫像飆到一千多萬,等於一號(一張明信片)約
150萬,而當時市場上朱沅芷相當的畫作,一號約值20--30萬.
只是當時的得標者是馬為建(元大董事長),因此這幅畫值一號150萬,我看到他舉標
,馬上就"不舉",錢比不過他嗎!
但是但是朱沅芷的相似畫作,至今才值一號30--40萬,仍屬正常增值,並沒有因此值150萬!
因此個案的激情,應個別處理!
畢竟人關了燈,脫了衣,差別就沒有100萬與1萬那麼大了.

I think the part about whether Patek try to inflate the prices of its vintage timepieces in auctions is arguable, but as far as the current collections are concerned, I don't really think that Patek is that much more expensive in comparsion with other so-called 1st tier watch brands. Take 5054 for example, it has all the functions you see on the Lange 1 moonphase (except for the big date and it's an automatic), but the two of them can be bought at roughly the same price. The Datograph in RG here in the US is about 4 thousand dollars higher than the 5070 in retail price. The new Bregeut 5207 has a list price of $15,500, which is about the same for a 5107 ($15,200 to be exact). The Bregeut comes with a retrograde second hand but the Patek has a date on it. I admit that the AP 3090, Lange 1815, and VC 1040 are arguably cheaper than let's say, Patek's 3919, but with the exception of Lange, Patek pays more attention into its movement finish in comparision with all these other prestige brands. It's up to people to decide whehter the better finish underneath the movement is worth the extra money, but as far as I can see, the price difference isn't really as big as many people here state.

Also, I don't really agree with that one comment about how Patek seems to be an old dead man in comaprion with Lange,AP, and UN. I mean all these brands have been very creative in the past, and it will just be nice if they can keep up with this trend. Patek, on the hand, came out in the past couple years with, just to name a few, the 10 day watch as well as the 10 day tourbillon last year, the Sky Moon Torubillon and 5102, and the Star Caliber 2000. In my humble opinion, those are quite some impressive creations given Patek's status as an independent brand. I know the timepieces I mentioned are not meant to be made for everyone, but so are AP's ultra-complicated watches, UN's Sonata and the Khan, as well as Lange's Datograph and Perpetual Calendar (Lange's is coming out with a Datograph with dopple split-second fuction with a price tag somewhere between $60,000 -$80,000 US dollars).

As a consumer, I don't like the price increase like everybody else. I just don't think that it's fair to single out Patek as the sole high-end watch brand to be blame at, when all these other brands people talk about here are doing if not exactly the same, more or less what Patek is doing. Just my humble thoughts.

那搶標就精彩了
哄抬只能一時（畫商哄抬也是粉厲害的）
當做廣告吧！
長期保持在高水準就需要市場認同了。

Bravo!!! That was a well written piece. The best part is, you managed to state your arguments in a very respectful manner.

You have also showcased your tremendous knowledge in first tier timepieces, and I beg you for more contribution (well, more of an education for me)!!!!!

Thanks Flyback for your kind words. I know I should write in Chinese on this site, but that will just take forever for me. I'm afraid that I am not as knowledgable about watches as you claim, but I will for sure try to share my thoughts here from time to time. Thanks!
