Orient quartz..........最令我懷念的錶
It shall be my first "good" watch 
And we met exactly 33 years ago At that time I was just about to come to Taipei to begin my college life I remenber my mon said "you need a watch for living alone and for studying" We went to a watch store by bus It was the first time I had a chance to see so many watches that I was completely at a loss how to choose But strange as it may sound, it did not take us much time before we made a same decision........a beautiful round shape watch with date-day green dial and ss bracelet............It is a Orient quartz() I remenber we were very happy when we wallked out of the store And my mon told me it's really a present
For I passed the exam. and was able to become a college student Then, I went to college, went for army service and worked on a company All together almosy 8 years I was always accompanied with my Orient Until one day........... my Orient was missing
At that time, I was very sad and just couldn't figure out how I lost my watch I blamed myself for the carelessness and didn't wear watch for a long time It's so unconvenient without a watch, after all I bought a cheapest quartz as long as it can tell "what time is it now?" Fortunately, I had taken a kind of serious picture which showed I sat behind office desk with my hands on the desk And the Orient can be seen from my left wrist althought not so clear I still keep the picture at home
look likes the Orient is still with me I have shown the picture to my sons and told them the watch And that made me helplessly miss my Orient The Orient was gone thougt The story of the Orient shall be always in my mind I own many watches now I just can't have the one I lost
I am sorry , my "friend" I also want to thank you you let me understand I shall cherish what I have now And take good care of them as possible as I can I promise to you I will do my best PS: Since then I did not lose any watches The one my wife bought me more than 25 years ago The one I bought the first automatic Telux more than 15 years ago The one The first rolex 12 years ago And............... Are all in good condition I did not buy any Orient again |

我爺爺留給我老爸,然後我老爸又留給我的浪琴錶 ( 浪琴自製手上鍊機心,約50年的老錶 )
,印象中我父親曾跟我說.以前在台灣普通百姓根本吃不起白米,都嘛吃地瓜簽.我爺爺 是大地主,都會把要上繳給國民政府的白米蔗糖偷藏起來. ( 以前普通人家家裡是不準藏 白米及糖,被查到事情就大條了.) 每隔一段時間爺爺就會把這些米及糖拿出來分給村裡 的村民,後來村長為了感謝爺爺的善舉透過管道取得,送給我爺爺的,,,,,,,在當初的年代也 只有地方士紳才有能力戴手錶... 雖兩老已不在,我也花很多心思照顧及保養,盡量維持的跟以前一樣,甚至遠渡重洋到日本 去維修,只因台灣已無零件,, 很多人笑我.說..那麼老舊的手錶幹嘛花那麼多心思及保養 費,,,殊不知這錶對我緬懷先人意義是多麼重大,,賭物思人 ( 手錶只是其中之一 )是人性的 感情抒發.那種感覺是金錢所不能衡量的 ....

10幾20年前,在JFK 機場送朋友回台,
在免稅店,剛好看到一隻造型簡潔的porsche design (IWC) quartz watch, 2分鐘內就決定要買,原價1200美金, on sale 600美金, 因為免稅品需登機後才能拿到, on sale時間又等不到我下次回台, 就麻煩回台的朋友幫我購買, 等他兩個星期回美後,才帶到我的手上, 帶了幾年後,因換了機械錶, 這隻pd quartz watch,移交給小孩使用, 過了一段時間,發現小孩不喜歡帶, 就收回放起來, 怎知,前幾個月想看它時,卻遍尋不著, 記憶力衰退,忘了是送去保養沒拿回來, 還是去哪兒了? 希望哪天又突然出現在我眼前!
