Recently, I am checking about casio watches. I am considering g-shock series.
I know there are 'The-G' "MR-G"
what's the difference between them? And what's the differences with normal g-shock?
Also, about solar-power, is it a good feature? Someone said it is expensive to replace it it become malfunction in short time. So can it last for 10 years or more?

The G are the G-Shock's with tough solar and waveceptor. Mr-G are the G-Shock's with FULL metal (stainless or titanium) case and band. Mr-G are also considered the high end line of the G-Shock's.
You are probably right about the battery. I got a early tough solar MT-G and the rechargable battery was dead months ago. I was paying $20 to replace the battery to CASIO service center in the US. However, I storngly beleive that the situation is better now. It's hard to identify that the problem is from G-Shock or the battery itself. The battery will finally deteriorate after a number of discharge and recharge just like any cell phone battery. I don't think it will last up to 10 years. |
