HORAGE a Swiss luxury brand searching for answers in a digital world as a non-digital business

【衝突與革新- 數位資訊透明化對於反數位的精密鐘錶工藝造成的衝擊】

In 2008 Tzu-yu Huang, Julia Hou (Taiwan born and Swiss citizens) and Andi Felsl decided to build their own brand with their expertise as product designers and developers of high-end, Swiss watches.
They set out to re-define Luxury to its core. Sustainable, joyful and excellent products at decent prices. Beyond the product itself the brand HORAGE should also address socio-economic changes, which lie ahead of our societies.

Mechanical products like watches are actually “anti-digital” miracles offering sustainable value and fascination for their wearers.

But without doubt digital world is influencing every area of our lives and HORAGE wants to discuss with experts from different fields what our future could look like and how an "anti-digital“ luxury world is influenced by the transparency brought about through dramatic digitization.

Therefore HORAGE will kick-off the first conference in Taipei in which experts from different worlds express understanding about how to deal with complete transparency caused by the internet and smartphones and what this has to do with the future way of working when it comes to industrial design, and the way we buy and sell products. Furthermore we will gain insights in the non-digital world of watchmaking to better understand why it is so much more difficult to make 1000 mechanical watches at consistent quality rather than a single, one-off piece like as a manufacture production. 2008年,Tzu-yu Huang,Julia Hou,兩位台灣出生的瑞士女性與Andi Felsl,秉持自身對設計與研發領域的專業,創設了屬於她們的瑞士精密腕錶品牌。

何謂精密工藝 ? 他們重新定義 :
經典外型、極至品質,與相應本質的合理價位。
除了堅持產品質感,HORAGE亦在社經環境的變動趨勢下,慎思對應。
在零數位化的機械製品中,機械錶工藝實為引人欽佩的奇蹟,以質樸的謙遜姿態,賦予其配戴者雋永 的價值與魅力。
現階段而言,各項領域的數位化趨勢已不容忽略;因此HORAGE決定和各領域行家一同探討數位世代的
未來,以及精密工藝界,將如何對應大勢?

為深入此議題尋求解答,HORAGE將於台北舉辦一場講座,其中邀請了來自多方的專家學者,對這個廣為網際網路、智慧型手機滲透的世代,分析與討論。
