I have just come back from a Basilworld preview
I was allowed by Mr Wildorf himself to have a preview of what they are showing this year as the future models for the 2008 / 2009 Season.
I have listed the model numbers and descriptions at the base of this post.
Mr Wildorf told me that all the fuss over fakes being made in these factories was a rouse to put us all off so we would not realize what Rolex were doing.
All Rolex’s that come out of China will now be classified as genuine and places like eBay will have nothing at all to worry about.
The whole Tuder range of watches is to be discontinued with immediate effect.
They will however be replaced with a new range to be called the York range.
All of the York range watches will have serial numbers beginning with 1485.
This could be a reference to the War of the Roses .. A Middle ages battle between Henry Tudor, a Lancastrian, defeated King Richard III, a Yorkist at the battle of Bosworth Field on 22 August 1485
There is to be a new range of Dials for the Entire Rolex range.
These dials will be made from an Asteroid called – 2894 Chaucer which is a small main belt asteroid which was discovered by Edward L. G. Bowell in 1981. and was named after Geoffrey Chaucer, , An English Author.
The significance of this is that Mr. Hands Wildorf started his career as a watchmaker in London, England.
He was lured to Swizerland by a friend who had a chalet in the mountains and promised his good friend Hands Wildorf that the air was good enough to be sealed in watertight watches and it would not decay and then smell bad when opened many years later.
The date code on the watch …
There is to be a new system of date codes on watches. The Prefix letter (Currently “M”) will now be phased out.
There is to be a new coding designed by Geoffrey Chaucer and will be based upon an old ancient book of wisdom called “The Nun’s Priest”. This book dates back to around 1400. The book concerns two fools and takes place "thritty dayes and two" from the beginning of March, which is April 1.
The significance of this is difficult to determine.
