Put aside the China / Taiwan topic many people talks days and night - I think Seagull is no longer merely a small and sub-average local watch maker many people referred here...
True, its craftsmanship is still far behind those insanely pricy swiss firms. Yet it shows significant improvements it has been made recently. I bought a so-called "bird tourbillon" from ebay a couple years back... the rose gold plating, blue hands, and dial are all still intact and shine as new. And amazingly, it keeps very accurate time!! 1. The turbillon pointer serves as the second hand and it can't be stopped when setting time. So I'd use the scope of accuracy in "+/- min in a week (7 days)" 2. There is no power resrve so I wind it every morning. 3. It goes faster but less then 1 min for the whole 7 days testing. I had conducted several such 7-day cycle test... it always less the 1min faster. --- if you average them, it yields 8.57 sec per day. It's pretty close to my Longine Master moon (+6~7/day) and beats my Seiko automatic diver that has +2min per week. Though my Hamilton GMT Air is way better at -3/day. _________________ Live is short, savor every minute - in style. |
