Thanks masontai. I use windows 2000 at work and at home, so I'd need to get some Chinese typing software for this purpose. I have setup a computer for my mother at home with Chinese windows 2000, but I don't usually use it.
I actually can do pinyin, but veeeeery slow...

Actually Windows2000, WindowXP has a built-in support for Chinese. No Chinese OS is needed. |

英文版 XP (Pro and Home) ,要打中文及安裝中文軟體之方法 (2000 也可適用), 所以在國外的朋友不須要花錢另外買軟體了 (我從1999 開始就用英文版的Windows 跑中文了, 而且是在任何軟體下都可以 而不限於 MS 的軟體) XP 英文版中文安裝法 1. 準備好 Windows XP CD 2. 到 Start --> Control Panel --> Regional and Language Option double click on the icon. 3. Regional and Language Option window 中, click on "Language" tab, and then check the "Install files for East Asian Language", and then click on "Apply" 4. A window will ask you to insert WindowsXP CD. 5. You will have to reboot. Part II - Input Method 1.Repeat step 2 from the above. 2. After you click on "Language" bar, then click on "Details", then click on "Add", 3. "Add Input Language" window will popup, and In "Input Language" please select "Chinese (Taiwan)", and then "Keyboard layout/IME" choose "Microsoft New Phonetic IME 2002a", then click "OK", and "OK" on the "Text Service and Input Languages" window that is it for Inputing Chinese. Part 3 - To run Chinese program or to receive file with Chinese name. 1. Repeat step 2 from part 1. 2. In "Language for non-Unicode program" choose "Chinese (Taiwan)", and reboot the system. That is it, you can now run Chinese program, and even receive files in Chinese filename in English WindowsXP. 這樣就可以了. 而且還可以安裝文鼎公司的免費中文字型, 或是其它公司的中文字型. 安裝中文字型最好不要超過六個. 因為超過六個中文字型後, Windows 會不穩. 中英文版都一樣. |
