I never wear a leather band before because I don't like the feeling of wearing a band(it is sticky when the weather is hot) You are right, this band is huge, it is like wearing a bracelet rather than wearing a band. Your sweat will never touch the Stainless steel of the watch. After all, the size of the band is wider than the watch... I think is some kind of protection. I feel quite comfortable when wearing it. Anyway, this is my personal opinion, you don't have to agree with me
