I discovered that the second hand of the watch sometimes move faster, sometimes move slower. I mean this happens within a min, 60 seconds. The second hand may move faster for a '5 seconds' interval, then maybe slower for another few seconds, why does it happen?

在下試圖歸納一下問題所在。
若是 balance wheel、hairspring、或是 pallet 的問題，它會表現在 tic and tac 之間， 也就是最單純地由測表機上 balance wheel amplitude and beat error 可以看得出來， 另外，更進階的是從聲音 tic and tac 的分析，可以知道每一個 pallet 動作是否 過輕或過重，會造成所有影響 daily rate 的因素。但不管如何，這些都發生在 2 個beats之間。 若是規律性的循環的誤差，最大可能的來源是 escape wheel 的磨損，不論是 齒尖或軸，都會在一分鐘內的大尺度中表現出來，也可能會讓測表機出現像 是 sin wave 的圖形。其它的可能會來自於 train wheel 的磨損，因為實際在 繞圈走的是這些輪系。但這只是初步判斷，在下還可以舉出更多可能，也不 能忽略 going train、canon pinion 的磨損或潤滑程度的影響。 準確性是另一種鐘表藝術，但就在下來說，不準的表更能讓人接近這個境界。 請不吝指正 |

I see. So in summary, it must be a problem ,right?
For those do not understand my description, let me explain more. For exmaple, if I use 5 seconds interval is a comparison base. My question is whether each 5 seconds interval is the same for the movement of second hand? But it seems that the position of faster or slower movement is not fixed. |
