I suddenly have a question in my mind.

For me, living in Hong Kong, everything seems fine.
But for those who live in pole area, or maybe russia or canada, the temperature may be -20 degrees celsius, how can the watch operate under this condition? I notice some watches said the operation temperature is 3-35 degrees celsius, I am sure many places are much colder than this.

Also, another extreme condition is high attitude, say up on a high mountain or even in a plane, can watches withstand these condition too?

In those extremely cold Places, watches will work but without good accuracy, but the people there are not so particular about accuracy as we do, so I think is fine. ¸Ë¥Õ£©

In mountainous area, the watches will work in those high altitute, but in the case of jet air plane, the people who know the watches will work or not would already been dead in such high altitute. ¸Ë¥Õ£©

So I think each brand should specify the operation temperature and altitude for their watches, right?

But I know many brands do not.

Also, about temperature, then isn't it the weakness of quartz watches?

Quite good, jules, I have forgotten this point too.

This is one point to persuade people to buy mechancial watches. But actually is there any watches 'survive' everywhere? From the sky to the bottom of the sea, from dessert to the pole area, or even in the outer space.

I just know for seiko automatics, the range is quite large, from -10 degrees to 60 degrees celsius.
