Interesting....
Out of curiosity, I found this from a website, the background of the watch maker resembles to that of Frank Muller: "Blu is a new brand but while the brand may be a new one, the technical director, Bernhard Lederer, already had 20 years of experience designing and constructing watches for other firms when he devised the idea for Blu. A short history of Bernhard Lederer’s background and how he came to be the technical director at Blu - source du temps SA. "I started my career in watchmaking at a reputable museum repairing and reconstructing classic, vintage clocks and watches. Each of these timepieces had its own feel for shapes and forms within its preordained artistic period. Each of these timepieces was constructed by hand by masters of their era, and it was a fantastic experience to get inside their heads so that I was able to learn to reconstruct missing and damaged components. There was, however, no room for realization of my own ideas within this narrow window of horological artistry. At that point I began to construct my own clocks according to the ideals and designs of the time periods I was working with. I constructed each component myself, by hand. But I soon came to realize that I needed to invent my own interpretation of time, a modern interpretation to fit the age I live in."" |
