Sorry for interrupting the topic here but would like to ask Boris few questions.

Boris 前輩,

How do you think SS BlancpiaN Leman flyback chrono (Ref. 2185F-1130-71). Is the movement F185 good enough to buy? (I was thinking go get one IWC pilot cchronograph but the movement of that is modified by ETA 7750 and I really don't know how much IWC done for it, so....you know......)

Actually, I never buy any BlamcpiaN before but I would like to step into fine watch would via this brand. So please give me some of your advices. I appreciate it.

Dear William !
I myself like Blancpain very much. So far I have had 5 pieces Blancpain.
You can trust the quality of F185 . And the bracelet is much better than
many other brands . Don't be worried about Blancpain . But finding a used
one is better .

On more question and thanks for your quickly reply. Does the sapphire crystal on Blancpain (especially on Leman flyback chrono) has both side anti-glare coating?

Hi William,

Al Armstrong is the best dealer I've ever met in my life. How's that for a start?

He's a true class act and he knows his stuff. Whenever I pass by Hartford, I'd make sure I stop and pay him a visit. In terms of service, he's absolutely top notch, and you can expect the best out of him. The only down side is, the price is not always the best. I didn't get my PR from him, b/c I didn't know him well enough and I found a better price from a different dealer (I've never known anyone who can beat this guy). However, now that I know him better, I may go to him later even I'll have to pay a little more. Let me tell you 2 stories:

1. When I was going there the first time, I called him right before their closing time. I was about 30-45 mins away and he actually waited for me. We ended up chatting about watches for 1.5 hours. He even offered me for a drink after closing... but I had to go. When you talk to him, you sure feel like talking to a watch nut and not a dealer. During the Basel Fair/SIHH this year, he even closed his store down and flew his whole team over there.

2. A few weeks ago, I drove by there again. I figured I had some time to kill, so I made a stop. We were chatting about watches, and he showed me the Blancpain 50 fathoms 50th Anniversary watch...great watch, great time. He even traded me his Blancpain umbrella for my AP one.

Sadly, my car got towed, and it was raining extremely hard out. Since I knew no one there, I went back to him. Not only did he stop what he was doing, he started calling his police friends and helped me tracking down my car. He had an appointment in a little while, but he was even considering driving me to the tow yard. I'm telling you, I've never met any dealer would go this far out of his way to help. I just have a lot of respect for him.

If price is more important to you, please send me a private message, and I'll send you more info about my other dealer.

Also, I think the blancpain flyback is one of the best chrono in the market. I picked my screen name after it.

And the X-71 bracelet is highly sought after among collectors. Once you put it on, you'd know why.

看到熱心的calatravayang大大帶頭響應，小弟也將之前手邊的資料整理，
跟大家介紹GO的小老弟→Union Glashutte Julius Bergter Edition。

Union Glashutte Caliber 30機芯的介紹：

2002年的2月，Union Glashutte Julius Bergter Edition初次的現身，
擄獲不少錶迷的心，這個限量的版本，搭載著Union Glashutte Caliber 30自製手上鍊機芯。
鐵道紋、阿拉伯數字、銀色面盤、藍鋼指針，構成現代典雅的面貌，簡約務實的風格，
與傳統德製腕錶不謀而合，除了感到驚豔之餘，更深深引起共鳴。
有鑑於此，原本設定限量100只的三款(Small second、Pointer date、Power reserve/moonphase)，
後來都陸續追加生產第二批(另100只)，形成在限量編號上出現前後兩個版本(xxx/100、xxx/200)。

2003年，Bergter家族再添加2個新成員(Regulator、Chronograph)，機芯一樣採用Caliber 30，
限量發行200只，形成Bergter數量發行的常規。此刻，整個Julius Bergter Edition可以說更加完整，
儘管以德國、奧地利為限的發行策略，結果一樣頗受好評。
有人說UG Bergter series，產品線的完整性已大過於GO 1845 series(因為Bergter有計時款Chronograph)，
可說是青出於藍(UG 30機芯是GO 49機芯的精簡版)、勝於藍。
然而，若論及GO 49機芯的細工與打磨，UG 30機芯恐怕還有一段的落差，
因為UG 30機芯用機器打磨，而GO 49機芯強調傳統百年工序、人工白蠟打磨，
細緻程度不可同言而喻(當然兩者價位上也相差一大截)。

2004年2月，UG.在德國慕尼黑發表兩款18k pink gold版的Bergter(Small second、Power reserve/moonphase)，
再度成為會場上的焦點，Bergter series邁進貴金屬之列，更上一層樓。
仔細一瞧，18k pink gold的Small second、Power reserve/moonphase，
除了錶殼、錶針金屬材質的不同，時針的長度也比2002年那幾款來的長一些，
使得在視覺上更添美感。其實，時針的加長早在2003年的Regulator、Chronograph就已經開始了，
而18k pink gold版只不過是延續這項修改爾爾。然而，18k pink gold版的發行卻一波三折，
至今音訊全無，主要是因為GO老大哥這陣子在國際市場上快速走紅，
因此，SWATCH集團希望先利用UG小老弟微薄的產能來助GO一臂之力。
畢竟，GO老大哥有他的假想敵(阿浪哥)，雖說德國有雙雄，但王者只有一位。

心得：
小弟年初有幸入手一只全新的Bergter Regulator，39mm大小的dress watch戴起來真的嘟嘟好，
上鍊手感前段順、中段阻、後段緊，以這價位而言，算是相當超值的錶款。
小弟給它的評價很不錯，機芯運轉聲很小，日差+3~5秒內，現在當成上班日常用錶。
如果說GO 1845是古典美人(她的寶璣針真是迷人)，那UG Bergter就像是摩登現代小姐，
我最欣賞她的錐形藍鋼指針，不但簡約而且很犀利，非常有德國味。
加上面盤上斗大的阿拉伯數字5.10.15...的設計，時間判讀上相當的清楚便利。

札記：
自從得知18k pink gold版Bergter的發表，說實在的，我沒有被這光芒所感動，
因為這和我原先預期有很大的落差。在我的想法，儘管Bergter的產品線已經很完整了，
但似乎還欠缺一種感覺，那就是Big Date。如果Bergter發表Big Date款，我一定馬上買一只。
儘管如此，Union Glashutte Julius Bergter Edition的Quality是無庸置疑的，
雖然身為GO.的副牌，但Bergter經典的設計與Caliber 30機芯依舊喚起錶迷的共鳴。
