Hi Phang, nice to see you too. Nice picture of the SBGM001. Are you a Seiko fan? |
Thomas, I am not qualified to call myself a Seiko fan, I have 2 Seikos at the moment, SBGM001 and Black monster for daily wearing.

_________________ Yeoman's Weblog |

I believe Seiko considers 28800bph and 36000bph as 'high-beat'. To them, the 'Hi-beat' inscription is not exclusive to watches with 36000bph. In the early days, most watches were made with beat rates of 18000bps and 19800bph. So when Seiko introduced the movements with 28800bph and 36000bph, they put the word 'Hi-Beat' on the dial as a form of indication or differentiation. Today, they no longer do so because 28800bph have become very common. Here's a picture of a vintage 52 KS that beats at 28800bph. Note that it has the 'Hi-beat' inscription on its dial. Hope this helps. _________________ Yeoman's Weblog |
